A Message From Our President, A. Dale Thompson, Ph.D.

With our 2018 Consulting Psychology Conference in Savannah, GA next week, I am excited to announce that SCP and the Society for Psychologists in Management (SPIM) are teaming up to create a new, bigger conference experience in 2019. A joint committee has already started planning the Fort Worth, TX conference, which we anticipate to be much greater than the sum of its parts.

Why Now?

More than ever, it is recognized that psychological science helps organizations to improve culture, develop effective leaders, create cohesive teams, and find their edge in a competitive market. Our vision is to position SPIM, SCP, and our members to Lead the Way in translating behavioral research into practical applications that transform the workplace.

What Stays the Same?

The 2019 conference will maintain the best and most familiar aspects of our individual conferences, while adding new and exciting offerings.

  • SPIM members will recognize the:
    • evening kick-off circle
    • focus on developing senior leaders
    • training institutes
    • SCP members can count on the:
      • diversity celebration event
      • annual town hall
      • jam session

Everyone will continue to enjoy connecting with valued colleagues, learning from senior-level consulting psychologists, attending presentations by world-class senior executives and innovative leaders, all while earning more CEUs than are available at our individual conferences.

What’s New?

In addition to two full-days of keynotes and break-out sessions, we are adding a full-day, single-track summit on Friday, February 8, 2019, which will:

  • feature big name and impactful speakers
  • draw individuals from other related fields (e.g., HR, OD, change management) who benefit from and contribute to our members’ knowledge and experience

Mark your calendar to join us! Together, we can Lead the Way!
