Harry Levinson Early Career Consultants Development Group (HLD)

For several years, SCP had sponsored the Harry Levinson Early Career Consultants Development Group (HLD), a FREE education/development program that provides teaching and mentoring on consulting skills.  It is designed to provide a small group of Early Career Psychologists opportunities for discussion and feedback about actual cases.

The program honors Harry Levinson, one of the founders of Consulting Psychology. Through participation in this group you will get to know a bit more about his insights into the field and their applicability to actual consulting work.  It is our hope the program will be valuable in developing your consulting career. You will not only have the chance to receive mentoring and advice from a senior consultant (Judy Blanton – see bio at the end of the email), but also to connect with colleagues and learn from each other’s experiences.

The group conference call sessions will take place for 6 months on the last Tuesday of the month from 7:30 to 9:00 pm EDT,  (4:30-6pm PST)  beginning April 28, 2020. Specifically, the calls will take place on April 28th, May 26th, June 23th, July 28th, August 25^th and September 22th.  It is important that you commit to attending each session as group input and involvement is critical to the success of the series.

During the first session, we will discuss learnings from the groundbreaking work of Harry Levenson, describe the structure for the series, and set expectations and ground rules.  We will also take time to introduce ourselves and our interests.  The other sessions will focus on case studies and topics relevant to building your skills as a consultant.  Specific content will be responsive to the specific needs of the group.  Upon accepting your spot in the group, you will be given access to a DropBox that will contain important information for the series including resources and readings.
