Join us for a special 2021 Breaking into Consulting Virtual Program. This CE-accredited program (7.5 CEU’s)* is being sponsored by Society for Consulting Psychology (Div. 13 of APA) & Organizational Consulting & Work Psychology Division of the New York State Psychological Association.
The program will provide you with a way to get started and a roadmap to building the competence needed for this work. Come for individual sessions or join us for the exciting 2-day program! Organizational consulting – with individuals, teams and organizations – is a rapidly growing practice area for psychologists. Clinical skills are a valuable element of consulting: Over 60% of APA’s Society for Consulting Psychology have clinical backgrounds. Organizational consulting can be a great way to expand your practice. Constraints on mental health and other psychological service areas make a diversified revenue stream an increasingly attractive business proposition. This program offers three sessions each on July 8 and July 9 that provide you with the scientific and theoretical underpinnings and core competencies, as well as business and ethical/legal considerations that you will need to work in this area.

Organizational Diagnosis

Consulting is distinctive in that it works at several levels simultaneously. The largest system with which consulting psychologists deal pertains to the organization as a whole. Specialized tools to assess Organizational Climate, and other organizational surveys, will be covered as well as the skills required to move from individuals, to teams, to the company as a whole.

In this module, we discuss how one markets consulting services, whom to approach, and how. Tools such as websites, LinkedIn, and social media will be discussed, as well as differentiating your psychotherapy practice from your consulting practice (for those who may want to do both).
