Meet Our Class

Stefanie Putter

Stefanie Putter is an Organizational Effectiveness Consultant with Slalom Consulting where she specializes in providing talent development, executive coaching, organizational design, and change management support to her clients. She has worked internally in a Fortune 10 telecommunications company and externally consulting with leaders from the front-line to the C-Suite. Stefanie holds a Ph.D. in Industrial and Organizational Psychology and is passionate about helping companies boost their people results.

As part of the SCP LDI program, Stefanie is working on a leader succession project where she is helping update board member position descriptions, formalize an on boarding process for new board members, and build a talent pipeline of future SCP leaders.  

Julia B. Corcoran, Psy.D.

Similar to many members, I took a winding route to SCP. I have a bachelor's degree in business administration and management information systems, and subsequently spent several years in corporate retail. While I truly love spreadsheets, that type of career was not a passion for me. I returned to school to get a doctorate in clinical psychology so that I could balance my "business world" experience with the clinical expertise to help a wide variety of people. Luckily, that plan actually worked, and I have found several areas of work that are a great fit for me. I see therapy clients in a private group practice, I am a leadership coach at a startup delivering coaching to emerging leaders, and I teach and advise in a business psychology bachelor's degree program. In my career and personal life, I highly value continual learning and growth, and in those efforts, I was immediately drawn to SCP's Leadership Development Institute. It is an honor to be able to learn more about becoming a better leader, and to do so within an organization with so many people that I respect and admire.

Brittany Joslyn

Brittany Joslyn has worked in the nexus between business and psychology for over ten years. She is currently a key member of the consulting team at Leadership Worth Following, LLC (LWF), where she focuses on assessing and coaching emerging leaders. Prior to joining LWF, Brittany worked in Mercer’s Human Capital practice. There, she completed executive compensation analyses and benchmarked employee compensation for national and multinational organizations. Then, Brittany served as a career advisor, course instructor, and research assistant at Florida State University’s world-renown Career Center. While in that role she regularly led workshops and seminars focused on many different topics related to career development. Brittany currently serves on the Society for Consulting Psychology’s Leadership Development Initiative. As part of this initiative, she focuses on the revitalization of distance learning offerings within the society. Brittany lives in Dallas, Texas, where she spends her free time cooking, jogging, and doing yoga, as well as spending time with her husband, Peter and her kitty, Sassafras. 

Marissa Berman

Marissa is an organization development consultant and staff psychologist with the VHA National Center for Organization Development (NCOD), providing organization development consulting services to VHA facilities nationwide. This includes organizational assessment, team and executive team development, change management and executive coaching. She is interested in helping to build higher performing and more enjoyable workplaces, particularly by leveraging the use of technology to create real changes in the work environment. Marissa earned her doctorate (Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology from the University of Denver, completed a postdoctoral fellowship in organization development consulting at VHA NCOD, a postdoctoral residency and predoctoral internship at The University of California at Davis Counseling and Psychological Services with an emphasis in sport psychology. She is a former US Ski Team athlete, National Champion and World Cup Medalist in the sport of Inverted Aerials. When not working you, can find her enjoying the outdoors with friends and family at any chance she gets - hiking, skiing, surfing, cycling, running, swimming, etc.

Jane Floyd

My first experience within our Division was six years ago and with the encouragement of several mentors have felt guided and supported in many ways throughout this journey.  The opportunity to further my skills within the Leadership Development Initiative has been tremendous. My area of focus will work with our APA Council Representative Amy Owen Nieberding, specifically looking at the APA Ethics Code to identify areas of refinement of the code for those practicing in non-clinical settings (General Applied Psychologists). My return to Consulting Psychology can truly be thought as going full circle given an initial career in the field of consulting. Having had careers in business in sales capacities for large tech companies and then moving into internal and external consulting for several companies, I enjoyed time off to concentrate on family, which was a true blessing. My husband and I enjoy traveling in our available time, love gourmet cooking with groups of friends and now watching from the sidelines as our grown daughter excels and grows within her own self developing her career, living on her own and enjoying life in San Francisco. 

Felina Carter, PhD, PMP, SSBB

My name is Felina Carter. I was born and raised in Rome, NY but have lived in the Denver metropolitan area for the last 30 years. I currently live in Aurora, CO which is just outside of Denver. I have a 25 year old son and a 4 year old granddaughter. I enjoy walking, bike riding, working out with my son, and I love to read.

I have more than 12 years’ experience as a project management consultant in healthcare IT security and recently earned my PhD in IO Psychology at the University of Phoenix. I am excited to be a member of SCP as the APAGS Student Representative and also to be in the Leadership Development program. Michelle Downey and Jennifer McDonald are great mentors and I am enjoying working with them on the member survey. 

Layla Bokhari

Background: I work with local organizations and non-profits to ensure diversity and inclusiveness is incorporated into the organization’s daily practices. Through dialogue and training, we move from awareness to implementation on an individual, team, and organizational level.

LDI Project: I am currently the co-chair for CPC 2018. I am working with a great committee on the year-long project to prepare for the “Big Party” at our annual conference in Savannah, GA! The LDI project I am working on is improving the efficiency in planning the annual conference and creating a timeline to ensure sustainability for future co-chairs and the planning committee.  

Jake Waldman, PsyD, MBA

Jake lives and works out of Philadelphia, where he heads up the Assessment & Coaching practice of Selekman Consulting, LLC. He leverages his PsyD and MBA from Widener University’s Institute for Graduate Clinical Psychology (IGCP) to help clients understand the impact of their behaviors, attitudes and actions on others and the decisions they make. As part of the Leadership Development Initiative, Jake is working on Membership engagement, development and growth, focusing on aligning communications and operations with the brand vision of the Society for Consulting Psychology. When he’s not at work, he teaches and supervises as an adjunct faculty member at IGCP, and spends time on DIY projects with his wife and two kids.

Jamie Lewis Smith, PhD

We spend more waking hours at work than with our families.  It is my passion and ambition to make that time as satisfying, engaging, and purposeful as possible for the individuals who are a part of the organizations I serve.  As a consulting psychologist I have the opportunity to have an impact everyday as a catalyst for organizational health and leadership effectiveness.  I have been privileged to work with leaders and their followers across the Veterans Health Administration, Nemours Children’s Health System, and now at MedExpress as an internal organization and talent development practitioner.  To achieve my professional purpose, I am keenly interested in developing strong, people-oriented leaders who create a nurturing, service-oriented culture within their organizations. I have a unique interest in organizational culture change and leadership development, and have published and spoken internationally on Servant Leadership. I am grateful to be a part of the Society of Consulting Psychology, as it connects me to like-minded psychologists working to apply our knowledge of behavioral science to improve the world of work and the individuals who lead it.  In an effort to be more involved in the organization, I have worked as a part of the conference planning committee in 2016 and 2017.  I have also built deep relationships with other members as a part of the inaugural Leadership Development Institute (LDI) cohort.  I am happy to bring these interests together in my LDI project to streamline the conference programming through the creation of a new Program Committee Lead role and the development of an associated toolkit. In the past, my husband, Curtis, and I enjoyed traveling around the world, spending quality time with our dogs, and a deep appreciation for craft brewery culture and its products.  Recently, my hobbies include planning the SCP annual conference (join us in Savannah in 2018!), listening to leadership and business books during my 3 hour daily commute, and my daily workout (i.e., being mom to my 2-year-old high needs son, Beckett).
